Foreign trade of China’s Guangxi hits record high
Imports and exports of south China’s Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region topped 593.06 billion yuan (about 93.41 billion U.S. dollars) last year, according to Nanning Customs.
The foreign trade volume of the region exceeded 500 billion yuan for the first time, posting a yearly rise of 21.8 percent, said the customs of the regional capital.
Last year, exports rose 8.6 percent year on year to 293.9 billion yuan, and imports jumped 38.3 percent to 299.2 billion yuan, said Nanning Customs.
Privately owned businesses contributed 366.4 billion yuan of the trade, up 13.4 percent year on year, accounting for over 60 percent of the total trade, said the customs bureau.
The region’s trade with the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) members increased 18.9 percent year on year to about 320.9 billion yuan.
