Italian captain active in helping Belt and Road
As usual, Mauro Benvenuto, captain A320 at China Eastern Airlines Jiangsu, arrived at Nanjing Lukou International Airport on the afternoon of April 23 with his luggage, preparing to fly to Bangkok that night.
Thailand has extended its visa-on-arrival policy to the end of April so the plane will be fully packed, said Benvenuto, dressed smartly in uniforms.
Benvenuto from Italy, one stop of the ancient Silk Road trade route, began to serve as caption A320 at China Eastern Airlines Jiangsu in 2014 and that’s also his first visit to China.
Amid the deepening cooperation among countries along the Belt and Road, more and more foreign pilots have chosen to work in China. At present, China Eastern Airlines Jiangsu has 17 foreign captains, who are from Italy, Germany(Nyheter), Britain, Belgium, Singapore, Brazil and Chile, accounting for 6 percent of the captains.
