Mitsubishi Motors Starts to Put 6,500 Workers on Leave, Nikkei Reports
–Mitsubishi Motors Corp. has started putting up to 6,500 full-time and temporary workers at three domestic factories on leave as it reduces production in response to the coronavirus pandemic, the Japanese business daily Nikkei reported Wednesday, without citing sources.
–For some workers, about 80% of their salary will likely be paid, the Nikkei report said.
–The factories are expected to remain shut until April 23 after they close over the coming days.
