Delivery Hero Rolls out Cashless-Only Policy in Coronavirus Risk Zones
Delivery Hero AG said Thursday that it has introduced a cashless-only policy in high-risk zones in a bid to curtail customer interaction with riders and limit the spread of the coronavirus.
The German food-delivery company said it is also implementing no-contact delivery with drop-off areas, as well as the sanitizing of packages as it provides riders with hand sanitizers, masks and other equipment in high-risk zones.
Delivery Hero is encouraging cashless payments everywhere else amid an increase in demand for online food delivery, as lockdowns and other restrictions in several countries across the world prompt more people to stay at home.
The company said it is speeding up the onboarding process for grocery stores and restaurants to join its platform in a bid to address rising demand.
